My career journey began with diverse roles at a young age—from managing a farm, supervising at Starbucks, and even being a Tech Care Expert at T-Mobile. After graduating from Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils), I launched a business in 2017, diving into the marketing world to build the experience I craved and lacked.
At 22, I left my job, embraced risk, and founded Blue Armor Media. It was an exhilarating 6 ½ year ride of learning, growing, and continuously improving in areas like Branding, Graphic Design, SEO, Websites, Photography, and more. In times where projects fell out of my scope of expertise, I utilized my network of industry colleagues to outsource and learn from them until I acquired the skillset I needed.
Throughout that journey, I had collaborated with trusted vendors and partners, focusing on my passions: leadership, creativity, and writing. I've learned to let go of what doesn't fulfill me, aiming not just to succeed financially, but to truly enjoy my work.
The COVID-19 pandemic initially posed challenges for BAM, but we navigated through these times with resilience, choosing not to take the PPP loan as we managed to sustain through our clients and outsourcing needs. However, the Suez Canal incident was a turning point, leading to the unfortunate folding of two of my major clients. This prompted me to seek stability and new growth avenues, signaling a readiness for change.
After much learning and growth from running BAM, I began exploring new opportunities. Among over 350 job applications between March to May 2021—a process meticulously tracked in a spreadsheet—I took a shot at Disney, a dream so big I almost didn't believe it possible. Yet, Disney saw potential in me, proving that sometimes, the greatest gambles lead to the most rewarding opportunities.
I’ve been with Disney for nearly two years now, genuinely cherishing every moment. Yet, the writer in me yearns to connect, teach, and share the lessons from my journey. That's why I’m excited to announce my new venture into blogging via Substack. Here, I'll share insights on marketing regarding the industries I learned the most in, delve into leadership, recount networking adventures, and occasionally feature interviews. I’m eager to explore topics that matter to you, so please, leave a comment with your suggestions, or reach out to me on social media! I’m always open to discovering new ideas.
Let’s embark on this new journey together.
